Video: Laura Jane Grace of Against Me! “Walking Is Still Honest” live at the Beauty Bar (Punk Rock Bowling)

AAaaaah! This is so great! My favorite Against Me! song (which is actually in line for my favorite song of all time, no joke, I want this shit played at my memorial when I die)! The best part is the audience does all the backing vocals! It makes me so happy that I’m willing to forgive the kind of fuzzy audio.

SISTER, IT IS BETTER THAT YOU SHOULD RUSH UPON THAT BLADE THAN ENTER THE CIRCLE WITH FEAR IN YOUR HEART.
HOW DO YOU ENTER?
With perfect love and perfect trust.
GOOD. WELCOME TO OUR COVEN. ONLY A COUPLE OF GROUND RULES:
1. NO TAKING INTO YOURSELF ALL THE POWER OF MANON. WE HAD SOME TROUBLE WITH THAT A FEW YEARS AGO.
2. YOU CAN’T WEAR A TANK TOP TWO DAYS IN A ROW, AND YOU CAN ONLY WEAR YOUR HAIR IN A PONYTAIL ONCE A WEEK.
3. ON WEDNESDAYS WE WEAR PINK.
BLESSED BE.

Hi, Jason! I love your blog and your passion for this amazing band. Thanks for curating this space for all the True Believers. Just wanted to share a quick story. Last week was my birthday, so my friends and I took a road trip to see the Souls in Poughkeepsie, Burlington, and then at Bamboozle.  The Burlington show fell on my actual birthday, and my friends at some point told the band this, because they surprised me with a slot on the setlist just for me to request a song.  I am so amazed at their thoughtfulness and continued kindness to their fans.  I’ve seen them close to 50 times now and won’t be slowing down anytime soon.  Having the band wish me a happy birthday and sing a request for me was more than I ever expected.  I was just looking forward to seeing my favorite band with my friends that day!  After a moment of not being able to speak, I asked for “Never Say Die”…a song that represents a lot of how I feel about them & about the journey of my life right now.  Here’s a picture of the setlist K8 gave me at the end of the show.  xoxo — Shannon
EDIT: For some reason, it lost the Tumblr ID of the person who submitted this, but I want to say thank you for the submission! AMAZING story about a killer band and experience! Rock on, Shannon!

Yay, Shannon!  I’m lucky enough to call this awesome lady my friend <3

Yay, Shannon indeed! Shannon is one of the best people to know, ever, and I am very glad to call her my friend. She’s one of those rare people you just can’t say anything bad about, and I met her because we both love the Bouncing Souls!

“I like that I stick out. I was watching ‘Valentine’s Day’ on the plane recently. I have a tiny part in that movie. I was watching all the women — Jessica Biel, and Emma Roberts, and Jennifer Garner and Julia Roberts. They are gorgeous women, and I don’t want to take anything away from them, but they all do have a very classical look, with a very thin nose. I’m watching this parade of these faces and then, boom, it was my face, and I was taken aback. I was like, ‘Oh, my nose is so big!’ I have never in my life thought I had a big nose, but, well, there it was. The first time I was on TV, on ‘Flight of the Conchords,’ someone put up a YouTube clip and said, ‘You’re too ugly to be on TV.’ And I was like, ‘That is exactly why it’s a good thing that I’m on TV.’”

I love her so much.

My little brother got into outer space and stuff so my step-mom bought him a place mat with all the planets on it. When I first saw it, I was upset, because it was newer and so Pluto wasn’t labeled. I was about to say something when I noticed something…

Pluto is there.

The artist remembered Pluto.

Guys…

The artist drew Pluto crying.
